OPA | ODH Nicotine Use Disorder Certificate and CE Programs offered

OPA is proud to offer educational programs to help community pharmacists implement a nicotine use disorder treatment program. The Nicotine Use Disorder (NUD) Certificate Program and the shortened 3-hour program are home studies designed to give pharmacists the expertise to help patients successfully quit smoking or using tobacco. This training is endorsed for training requirements for Ohio’s Pharmacist-led protocol-based dispensing rules. Pharmacists who complete this certificate program will also have the tools, knowledge, and experience to provide treatment services for any nicotine use disorder program across the country.

^New OPA has partnered with ODH to create a shortened training program for pharmacists interested in providing simplified Nicotine Replacement Therapy-based training. The program includes 1 hour each of clinical training, workflow transformation tips, and an overview of laws related to NRT dispensing.

Highlights include:

• Speakers from specialized practice settings.
• 9 Continuing Pharmacy Education (CPE) credit hours.
• 1 Law credit Continuing Education Unit (CEU) included in the training program.
• Certificate awarded after completion of the program.
• Endorsed training for Ohio NRT Dispensing through a physician-signed protocol.
• Completely online and asynchronous.
