You're invited to a special fundraiser for Ohio governor candidate & state senator Joe Schiavoni
On Wednesday, December 6, OPA members Marc & Maria Schiavoni are hosting a special fundraiser for state senator Joe Schiavoni, who is currently seeking the democratic nomination for the race to be the next Ohio governor.
While OPA does not make endorsements in these races, we love when our members get proactively involved in political campaigns: especially for candidates that we love to work with.
Senator Schiavoni has been a great ally on many pharmacy issues over the years and has a deep understanding of the legislative issues facing the profession. He has been consistently accessible and communicative, and we have always valued working with him and his staff.
Both Marc and Maria are co-hosting the December 6 event and welcome you to join them in support for Joe Schiavoni in his race for governor. See below for a note from Senator Schiavoni's brother, pharmacist Marc Schiavoni:
I am honored to endorse my brother Joe Schiavoni for governor of Ohio. He has always fought for Ohioans to have good jobs, quality schools, and safe communities. With Joe you can rest assured that his only agenda is to fight to improve the lives of his constituents.
If you get an opportunity to have a conversation with Joe or hear him speak, you will understand that he is not a typical politician. He takes the time to listen to the people of Ohio and fights for what is best.
My wife Maria and I are both pharmacists and members of OPA. We know the importance of someone who listens and is a devoted supporter of our profession. In the Ohio Senate he supported the Ohio Pharmacist Association by fighting to help keep the PBM reform language in the budget. This helped set up regulatory framework for a previously unregulated entity that was driving small pharmacies out of business. As governor he will continue to support legislation that protects Ohio Pharmacists and small business owners.
