How did you get interested in the profession of pharmacy? I started reading about Walter Reed and his work in tropical diseases during the 3rd grade. I started to work in a drug store when I was 17. Once I got into college, I changed major as a freshman from zoology to pre-pharmacy. I would have to say working during high school and early college in a drugstore gave me the insight into the profession of pharmacy that led me to start my path to becoming a pharmacist. |
Why did you choose OPA as a rotation? It is truly a unique rotation site. It can afford the pharmacy student many professional connections to other pharmacists, and a greater understanding of the role of pharmacists in government, professional organizations and many other issues regarding healthcare and pharmacy. |
What was the most significant or surprising experience at OPA? How important the role of politics plays in our profession. It was interesting to view the behind-the-scenes in how our government operates. |
