If you administer immunizations and have not completed an OSHA training within the last 12 months, now is your opportunity. OPA is offering a live webinar format for pharmacists to comply with this OSHA standard. To accommodate various work schedules this webinar will be offered on October 29 at 2 p.m. & 6 p.m., on October 30 at 11 a.m., and on November 7 at 10 a.m..

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Bloodborne Pathogens standard was revised by the Needlestick Safety and Prevention Act of 2000 to include safer medical devices and an exposure control plan. Immunizing pharmacists and others exposed to blood must meet the requirements of this standard, including ANNUAL training, or they will risk facing huge fines. This program will be provided at several dates and times and will provide the opportunity for interactive questions.

The speaker will discuss potential blood borne hazards, safer practices designed to reduce/avoid needlestick and other sharps injuries, and effective post-exposure procedures.

Note: CE credit for this program only available for pharmacists.
